In Congress, almost agreed to stop the shutter
Both parties came to the conclusion that it was necessary to separate the adoption of the budget and Trump's requirement to finance the wall on the border with Mexico.
The leaders of both parties in the upper house of the US Congress have reached a preliminary agreement on the possible withdrawal of the country from the government shutdown, which, in particular, prevents the FBI from conducting a full-fledged fight against its enemies. And although this initiative has not yet gained sufficient support in party circles, a budget bill is still being prepared, writes the publication “Today"with reference to The New York Times.
“Republicans and Democrats in the US Senate have shown the first glimmers of hope about a possible end to the government shutdown, which is now in its fifth week,” the publication notes.
This is an initiative that proposes to consider separately the proposal of President Trump on the allocation of 5,7 billion dollars to build a wall on the border with Mexico in the bill on the resumption of government funding until 8 February. For the initiative must vote on Wednesday, January 23.
The proposal was made jointly by party leaders - Senators Mitcham McConell and Chuck Schumer, but most Republicans are united around Donald Trump's initiative to extend the Shatdaun until funds are allocated for a new wall with Mexico. At the same time, most Democrats oppose such pressure. Therefore, none of the positions has a chance to get 60 votes (from 100) in the Senate, explains the publication.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump acted with a public appeal in which he called on the Democratic Party to find a way out of the difficult situation in the country. But the Democrats said that in the Trump proposal in a speech did not have "no sympathy for federal employees" and rejected his initiative.
Recall, the shatdaun in the US was delayed for more than a month and became the longest in the history of the country. Government employees forced look for a variety of part-time jobsto feed their families.
