In Colorado, illegal immigrants were allowed to renew their driving license without personal attendance.
Illegal immigrants who have a state of Colorado driver's license can now update them online or by mail without having to personally visit state officials.
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper signed the relevant 29 decision in May, reports KDVR.
Colorado began issuing a driver's license legally and illegally living in the region to people since 2014. But they had to update them personally every three years at one of the three offices of the Department of Motor Vehicles designed for this purpose.
A limited number of offices led to the fact that the residents of the state were forced for months to wait for their turn to update the document, which created problems for those who need a driver's license to perform their work duties. The changes are intended to correct this situation, speeding up and simplifying the process of updating a driver's license.
Immigrants who have evidence that they actually live in the state can get a driver's license in the state of Colorado, and the legality or illegality of their stay in the country is not taken into account.
