Futuristic bus-tunnel found abandoned in China

Journalists from the Chinese edition of Shanghaiist found a TEB (Transit Elevated Bus) tunnel bus. TEB was introduced in the spring of 2016 as the “bus of the future”, in August it was tested. According to Shanghaiist, the bus is on the test road in Hebei Province and looks abandoned, and the creators of TEB do not get in touch, says Meduza.

The eight-meter bus was supposed to drive along guides, and cars were free to pass under it. At the expense of the 32-meter length, the “transport of the future” would hold up to 1200 people. As planned by the creators, the bus would help unload the Chinese roads and get rid of traffic jams.

According to Shanghaiist journalists, TEB is under protection. “Company managers have long disappeared. We cannot contact them, ”said one of the guards.

It was noted that, despite the innovative design, the bus is too heavy for Chinese roads. Also, under the TEB would not be able to drive vehicles above the 2,1 meter (most Chinese roads are allowed to travel up to 4,2 meters in height).

After the first tests, it turned out that the person who was declared as chief bus engineer did not finish high school, and investors who invested money in the development of the project did not give any guarantees.
