Another Party of Regions deputy was killed in Kyiv

At the entrance of a residential building in Kyiv, police discovered the body of former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Party of Regions Oleg Kalashnikov with signs of violent death.

“It has been established that the deceased is a local resident, a former MP. According to preliminary data, the victim received gunshot wounds,” noted a statement from the capital department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

As Kalashnikov’s political opponents argued, the politician financed the “titushki”—aggressive supporters of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, known during the Maidan days.

“Without a doubt, the deceased knew a lot about who and how financed the Anti-Maidan, which cost Yanukovych and his camarilla several million hryvnia a day. He will take these secrets with him to the grave. But Kalashnikov was not the only one who knew a lot about who financed the Anti-Maidan and how,” wrote Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko.

Since the beginning of the year, three leaders of the former party of Yanukovich, including the ex-governor of the Zaporizhzhya region, Oleksandr Peklushenko, committed suicide.
