Two brothers accused of terrorism arrested in Canada
A statement by the Canadian Royal Mounted Police (RCMP) states that 24-year-old twin brothers Ashton Carlton Larmond and Carlos Larmond were arrested on Friday after a criminal investigation was conducted by national security agencies.
Ashton Carlton has been charged with "promoting terrorist activities", and among the charges against his brother Carlos are "an attempt to leave Canada to participate in terrorist activities abroad."
The RCMP statement also notes that Carlos was arrested at the Pierre-Elliott Trudeau Montreal International Airport, from where he "intended to travel abroad for terrorist purposes." Ashton was arrested in Ottawa.
In October, two Canadian servicemen became victims of two unrelated attacks, which the Canadian authorities called the attacks.
