A powerful storm has come to California: some residents are being evacuated. PHOTO, VIDEO
The second of several previously predicted storms hit California. The result is broken trees, flooded roads and the evacuation of residents in areas where wildfires raged in the fall. These areas remain vulnerable and intense rainfall could weaken fire-exposed slopes, leading to dangerous landslides.
On Saturday morning, weather forecasters reported that wind gusts in Santa Barbara County exceeded 80 miles per hour (128 km / h) after the storm moved south, writes The Washington Post.

The National Weather Service says some areas of Greater Los Angeles could get 4 inches (10 centimeters) of rain. Some areas could see high winds, 10-foot (three-meter) waves, and up to 10 feet (3 meters) of snow in the Sierra Nevada.
Orders or evacuation recommendations were issued for many areas of Northern and Southern California that were affected by forest fires a few months ago. Authorities are concerned that even one inch (2,5 cm) of rain per hour can lead to creeping debris, dirt and boulders along hillsides, which can be a danger to people.
The National Weather Service reports that on Sunday and Monday cold weather may be aggravated by even greater precipitation and severe snowfall.
The current storm will be followed by new ones - albeit less powerful ones - as early as next week.
