California introduced state of emergency

After the next heavy rains that covered part of California, Governor Jerry Brown announced late Monday a state of emergency in several districts.

This measure was taken in connection with the request of federal funds to assist in the restoration of damaged infrastructure.

Because of the heavy rains that hit the state, some districts are facing floods, erosion, mudflows and damage to roads and highways.

The Associated Press notes that currently the damage in 50 affected districts is estimated at tens of millions of dollars.

The affected regions include: Alameda, Alpina, Butt, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Humboldt, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, San Mamteo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyu, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislos, Sutter, Teheima, Trinity, Tulare, Tualami, Ventura, Yolo, Yuba and Del Norte.
