In California, parents prevented the offender from kidnapping two young children
In the state of California, in the city of Lake Elsinore, 29-year-old Marcus de Witt tried to kidnap two children playing in the park, writes The Blaze.
His actions were noticed by parents who raised the alarm. The offender was arrested on the spot.
DeWitt is reported to be a registered sex offender. He tried to kidnap two different children who played in the Rosetta Canyon Sports Park. He tried to pull the 3-year-old child out of a sports facility where the boy was playing. This attempt was unsuccessful. Then the offender tried to kidnap the 4-year-old child and managed to pick him up.
Parents noticed this and snatched the child from DeWitt. The man was knocked to the ground and held until the police arrived. There was a police officer on duty in the park who arrested DeWitt.
DeWitta has been charged with abduction. Parents of the offender reported that their son suffers from schizophrenia and believe that his actions have provoked the drugs that he uses.
“I don’t want to make excuses for our son’s actions. “I sympathize with the families affected and pray for the children’s recovery and hope they have no memories of this incident,” DeWitt’s father said.
