Neo-Nazis and anti-fascists scuffled in California: 7 man in hospital
26 June Neo-Nazis and anti-fascists staged a mass brawl under the Capitol building in Sacramento, California.
At least seven people are in the hospital, three with severe stab wounds, writes LA Times.
Adherents of neo-Nazism began to arrive at the California 26 Capitol of June around noon to hold a planned march, where they were met by representatives of anti-fascists who were chanted: "Nazis, go home."
Even before the rally began, a fight ensued, anti-fascists in masks beat the neo-Nazis with sticks and other improvised means.
“They attacked each other without hesitation, it was a real battlefield,” said witness Sandra Zafra.
Police representatives point out that the participants in the fights from both sides were well prepared and clearly planned a clash. Militiamen could separate the fighters only in 20 minutes, but did not detain anyone.
The representative of the fire service Sacramento Chris Harvey said that emergency crews transported to the local hospitals seven people with stab wounds, some of the injured were seriously injured.
Many other people received cuts, abrasions and bruises. More than a hundred policemen kept the assembled crowd from the occurrence of a mass brawl both on the western steps and around the building of the Legislative Assembly itself.
The capitol building was cordoned off, for three hours the tourists and staff remained inside, and people who were planning to visit the White House were not allowed.
On Monday, June 27, the Capitol is operating normally.
