In California, a passenger opened the plane's emergency door and activated the inflatable slide

On March 25, an inadequate passenger was apprehended after allegedly opening the plane's exit door and activating the emergency slide before jumping out, reports SkyNews.

The plane, which was departing from Los Angeles International Airport and bound for Seattle, was still on the airfield and pulling away from the gate when the incident occurred.

Passenger Gillian Sheldon tweeted: “Damn. Just as my flight was about to leave LAX, a man ran out of the back of the plane and opened the door. The flight attendants tried to stop him, but he turned the ramp and jumped out.

Sheldon later said that the passenger was "obviously agitated, nervous and anxious".

According to her, the man did not cooperate with the staff and ignored requests.

Miss Sheldon added: "The flight attendant looked at him and said, 'You need to go back to your seat,' and he said, 'What should I do now,' turned around and grabbed the door."

The flight attendant told the man he couldn't open the door, "grabbed him, and two seconds later he opened the door," Sheldon said.

"Unruly Passenger"

Delta Airlines confirmed the "unruly passenger" incident and said the person was initially detained by Delta employees before police arrived.

Los Angeles Airport Police Captain Carla Rodriguez also said the FBI had been notified.

Passengers were taken off the plane and transferred to another plane so they could continue their journey, she said.

Rodriguez added that no arrests were made, but the man was "taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation."
