The fire started because of the actions of a man who was looking after the house of his parents. He used a blowtorch to kill black widows belonging to one of the most deadly spider species in the world.
The flame damaged the second floor and the attic of the house. Twenty-nine firefighters eventually managed to put out the fire.
After that, the Fresno Fire Department asked its followers on Facebook not to use items with fire to kill the spider.
