So what makes the sand here so colorful? It gets its beautiful shade of pomegranate in the rocks surrounding the beach.
This beach is filled with crushed gems.
The color of the sand here actually fluctuates somewhere between purple and pink depending on the lighting.
And the pink color is not always visible, so seeing it is something amazing.
Since Pfeiffer Beach is located near Big Sur, it is usually quite deserted.
It has several places for a picnic and a small parking lot, but besides this, there will probably only be you, the sea and the expanse of amazing sand on the beach.
