California wildfires rage, evacuation announced
On August 15, a wildfire caused by squally winds swept through the National Forest in Northern California. This led to the evacuation of residents, reports Dailybeast.

The Siskiyou County fire near the Oregon border was one of at least 19 fires that have broken out in the Klamath National Forest.
According to rough estimates late in the evening of August 15, the area of the fire ranged from 1200 to 1600 hectares.
"If you are in the area, please leave immediately," forest ranger Rachel Smith wrote in a Facebook alert.

“Nineteen fires have been identified in the Klamath National Forest and we are actively seeking additional reports of smoke. Lightning and strong winds continue to be observed in the forest, she wrote. “Please be aware that Highway 96 and the Scott River Road are currently closed.”

There were no reports of casualties, but the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office ordered evacuations in several areas. The fire raged near the McKinney Fire, which broke out in the Klamath National Forest in July 2022 and ultimately killed four people and burned down the Klamath River community.
