In Israel, pre-approved the introduction of the death penalty for terrorists

The Israeli Knesset has previously supported a bill that simplifies the military courts to impose the death penalty on terrorists.

The bill, which is funded by Defense Minister Avigdorom Lieberman, still has to go through three rounds of voting in the Knesset to become law, writes Haaretz.

The Security Service opposes the bill, which is likely to cause a wave of abductions of Jews around the world to use in negotiations.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed his full support for the bill, noting that the document is not a whim of the country's authorities, and the death penalty must be introduced for terrorism, since a terrorist act is a war crime.

Оппозиционный депутат Ципи Ливни выступил против законопроекта. «У меня нет сострадания или скорби к террористам», — сказала она, называя законодательство «100-процентной безрассудной политикой».

The bill passed a preliminary vote in which it was supported by the 52 legislator, and opposed by 49.

According to the text of the bill, the military prosecutor may require the death penalty for a terrorist at its discretion. In addition, it is proposed that the death penalty should not be passed by unanimous decision of a military court, but by a majority of the judges. The bill also prohibits leniency after the final death sentence.
