In Indiana, a student was forgotten in a cave where he spent three days

The American student was forgotten for almost three days in a cave during a university trip, writes Air force.

19-year-old Lucas Kawara visited Sullivan Cave with the caving club of the University of Indiana on Sunday. The guy behind the group, and about him, obviously, forgot and closed the entrance gate.

“I was very embarrassed and scared,” he said. “It took me a little time to harness my emotions and use my intelligence and analytics to come up with a plan of action to survive.”

He said that he licked the wet walls of the cave to avoid dehydration. On his mobile, he wrote a farewell message to his family.

Only three days later the president of the caving club realized that the young man was not in the group, and returned to his cave.

In post on Facebook Kawar said: “Just wanted to let everyone know that I am safe and healthy! I was rescued about 30 minutes ago. It’s so good to be back on the surface!”

The caving club called the incident a “failure of leadership.” They said: "We have a number of strong protocols that should prevent situations like this from happening, but they are only effective if we stick to them."
