In Germany, a refugee publicly stabbed 15-year-old girl

In German Kandela, an allegedly underage refugee from Afghanistan killed a former girlfriend. Politicians require checking the age of refugees and discuss the problems of expulsion of criminals, writes Deutsche Welle.

The reason for the discussion was the murder with a knife of an 15-year-old girl named Mia, which occurred a few days ago in one of the shops in the city of Kandel (Rhineland-Palatinate). According to investigators, he was committed by an asylum seeker from Afghanistan.

It is known that the deceased had a love relationship with the murderer for some time, but then she wanted to stop communicating with him. After that, the Afghan began to threaten her and pursue the girl, her parents had to file a complaint against the persistent Afghan. The police interviewed him, after which Abdul decided to wait for the girl and kill her with a 20-centimeter kitchen knife in one of the city’s pharmacies, where at that moment they were from 15 to 20 people.

According to official documents, the murder suspect is the same age as the victim.

Meanwhile, Mia's father in an interview with the newspaper BILD expressed great doubts about the actual age of the Afghan. This topic was touched upon in an earlier interview by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bavaria, demanding, if necessary, to conduct a medical examination of the age of young refugees entering the Federal Republic of Germany. The Deputy Chairman of the Christian Democratic Union, Thomas Strobl, spoke in the same vein.

During a New Year's service in Ludwigshafen, the head of the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate, Christian Schad, mentioned the murder in Kandel, noting that "we are dealing with the act of one individual Afghan refugee, and not a group of people who - like him - are Afghans or refugees." Shad called for preventing such crimes from “sowing hatred and a desire for revenge in our hearts.”

Criticism of the channel

Along with the control system of refugees entering the country, the social-legal television channel ARD, which did not include the story of the murder in Kandel in the news program on the day when it became known about the crime, was criticized. After indignation in social networks, ARD news editor-in-chief Markus Bornheim (Marcus bornheim) explained that the program Tagesschau, “as a rule, does not report crimes committed on the basis of personal relationships.” However, then the story about the murder in Kandela appeared in the ARD news.

Currently, an Afghan suspect in the murder of his former girlfriend is in custody. According to the Rhineland-Palatinate police, the asylum seeker arrived in Germany in April 2016. He already came to the attention of law enforcement officers in connection with the infliction of bodily harm to another person.
