Clinton Foundation Assures Honesty
The vice president of the Clinton Benefit Mora Palley presented an official statement in response to allegations of receiving undeclared money from the Russian company Uranium One.
Pally explained that in Canada, the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership (CGEP) structure operates with all donations, and the list of private donors is not displayed on the organization’s website. According to Canadian law, the publication of information on charitable contributions requires prior permission from each such person.
At the same time, the Clinton Foundation publishes information on donations from the CGEP and does not violate the reporting on donations from foreign donors.
Palley admitted that some mistakes were made in the activities of the fund related to tax reporting. According to the vice-president, they were revealed as a result of an internal audit and related to the fact that when filling in the documents in one category government grants and private donations were credited. In this case, the total amount was specified correctly.
Earlier newspaper The New York Times found outthat the mining company Uranium One, registered in Canada and having become Russian in 2013, transferred money to the Clinton Foundation, which are not reported.
As reported, Hillary Clinton announced her intention to run for US presidency in 2016 year.
