In Georgia, 2 tigers escaped from the zoo: people were asked not to go out

Two tigers have been found who escaped from a Georgia safari park after a tornado damaged their enclosure. Dailymail.

Residents of the city were asked not to leave their homes while wild animals roamed the streets.

The Pine Mountain Safari Park confirmed that the two tigers, which had been on the loose for some time, were found, euthanized and returned safely to their enclosure.

Earlier on March 26, the Trope County Sheriff's Office announced that at least one tiger was "missing" after a tornado hit the county around 7 a.m. and damaged the tigers' cages.

The safari park is still closed to the public after the tornado.

Confirming that wild animals have been found, the zoo wrote: “Like much of Southwest Georgia, our Pine Mountain park was hit hard by a tornado this morning. Luckily, none of our animals or employees were harmed. However, several animal enclosures were broken and two tigers briefly escaped. Both were found, tranquilized and returned safely to safety. We appreciate your care and support during this difficult time."

Earlier, when the animals were still at large, the park wrote: “We have damage in the park and it will not work today. We are working hard to ensure the safety of our team and animals and will provide more news as it becomes available."
According to the Wild Animal Safari website, "there are no cages in the zoo - the animals roam freely and may even approach your group" during a safari.

The 5,6km trail is also said to be a good way to "meet the park's inhabitants".

“Walk our trail and see many different animals along the way,” the post reads. - Some of them may even approach you and your family! From the comfort of your vehicle, you and your group can experience the thrill of safari.”

The park previously made headlines last year after a viral video of wild animals quickly approaching a couple in their car.

In a video taken on March 29, 2022, 28-year-old Morgan Mosley can be heard screaming in fear as the animals approach. When a small group of zebras approaches the car, it exclaims, "Oh shit!" and hurriedly throws the food outside to keep them from coming any closer.
