In Denver, Uber driver shot a passenger
In Denver, on Friday morning, the driver of the Uber shot the passenger, writes USA Today.
Police confirmed that the driver worked in Uber, but could not confirm the information whether he was at work during the shooting.
The driver turned out to be 29-year-old Michael A Hancock. He is in prison on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Hancock's mother, Stephanie Hancock, said that her son travels to Uber for a couple of years to earn extra money.
“He's a husband, a father, a college student. He works two jobs. It's a terrible, terrible thing that happened. We don’t know anything,” she said.
According to parents, the son had permission to carry arms from the time when he worked as a security guard.
Police say they don’t know what Hancock’s motives were for the murder. In addition, Uber’s policy prohibits drivers and passengers from carrying firearms.
“This is a preliminary investigation, but it appears that the Uber driver and a passenger had an argument inside the vehicle that led to a shooting that resulted in the passenger being shot,” Denver police spokesman Sony Jackson said.
