On 15 Independence Day, thousands of immigrants will receive US citizenship
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate the 241 anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the birthday of our nation, welcoming nearly 15 thousands of new US citizens during more than 65 naturalization ceremonies dedicated to Independence Day this year.
“The Fourth of July marks our nation's birthday, and for 15 people, it marks the birth of a new chapter as American citizens,” said Acting USCIS James McCament. “These new members of our community will become part of our nation and will enjoy the rights, privileges and responsibilities of American citizenship.”
On July 3, a naturalization ceremony will take place at the National Museum of the Second World War in New Orleans, Louisiana. During this event, MakKament will congratulate 49 new Americans.
Others ceremonies naturalization will be held at:
- Kongari National Park in Hopkins, South Carolina, July 3.
- Saratoga National Historical Park in Stillwater, New York, 4 July.
- Calvin Coolidge Homestead in Plymouth, Vermont, July 4.
- Saguaro National Park in Tukson, Arizona, July 4.
- Thomas Jefferson's Monticello in Charlottesville, Va., July 4.
- The battleship "New Jersey" in Camden, New Jersey, 4 July.
- George Washington's Maount Vernon in Maya Vernon, Virginia, July 4.
