In honor of Veterans Day, 90 naturalization ceremonies will be held in the United States: thousands of immigrants will receive citizenship

US Citizenship and Immigration Services will celebrate Veterans Day (November 11) this year with over 90 naturalization ceremonies. More than 4440 current and former military personnel and their families will become American citizens, according to the press service of the department.

Each year on November 11, the country honors US military personnel.

“USCIS is committed to serving the U.S. military community by providing them with meaningful and effective access to immigration benefits to which they or their families may be entitled,” said USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddu. “USCIS is committed to improving the policies and procedures that help service members and their loved ones on the path to American citizenship.”

In addition, USCIS Director Juddou has strengthened the agency's partnership with the National Park Service to ensure that naturalization ceremonies continue to be held at national parks and historic federal landmarks that best reflect the strength and spirit of the United States.

Special events

In honor of Veterans Day, a naturalization ceremony was held on November 8 at the Federal Building in New York, where 78 immigrants received US citizenship. Their oath of allegiance to the United States was taken by the deputy head of the Department of Homeland Security, John Tien, a graduate of the United States Military Academy who spent 24 years in the army.

On November 9, the naturalization ceremony will be hosted by the head of the Department of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough. A special naturalization ceremony for current and former U.S. military personnel will take place at the agency's headquarters in Maryland.

Homeland Security Chief Alejandro Mallorcas will wrap up a series of special Veterans Day events in Baltimore, Maryland, where he will swear an oath of allegiance to the United States from 17 naturalization candidates. All of them are veterans of the US military or active military personnel.
