In the US budget for 2016 year laid $ 500 million to help Ukraine
The draft US federal budget for 2016 fiscal year, which is currently being discussed on Capitol Hill, laid the sum of $ 513,5 million, intended to support the Ukrainian government. This is stated in the budget report of the research service of the US Congress.
The text, in particular, identifies the 15 countries that receive the most assistance from the United States. The first three places are occupied by Israel ($ 3,1 billion), Afghanistan ($ 1,5 billion) and Egypt ($ 1,45 billion). Ukraine is in ninth place between Tanzania ($ 591 million) and Uganda ($ 459 million).
What will the money go
“The $ 513,5 million for Ukraine, which will mainly come from economic support funds, is earmarked for economic reforms, the promotion of democracy and anti-corruption efforts, and to support additional $ 1 billion in loan guarantees, if any. progress has been made on the reforms proposed by the International Monetary Fund, ”reads the text of the report.
Earlier, such a sum was requested by the US Department of State, however, according to the idea of the US Foreign Ministry, these funds were to be spent to “counter” Russia.
In addition to Ukraine, the State Department also wants to sponsor Georgia ($ 77 million) and Moldova ($ 49 million).
