In the Astrakhan region, due to the bureaucratic incident, the mother of many children, Alyona Bazhenova, lost all the benefits. Her story is told by the NTV journalists.

The fact is that according to the law adopted in the Astrakhan region, a mother with many children is considered to have all her children born in one marriage. After the birth of her sixth child, Alena Bazhenova got divorced, started a new family and gave birth to another - seventh - child. But immediately after that she was deprived of all benefits. The fact is that in the eyes of the state she is no longer a mother of many children.

“My family is now considered to be me, my husband and my child. And the six eldest, as it now turns out, are not part of my family. And why? They don’t live with neighbors,” Alena is surprised.

Bazhenova found out that there are thousands of such families in the Astrakhan region. Women have created an initiative group and are trying to achieve justice in various instances. But officials are still indifferent. “Officials say: let your husband adopt your child. Or get divorced. Then you will be a mother of many children, but without a husband ", - said Olga, member of the initiative group Ekaterina Litvinova.
