Liquid chocolate tank truck turned over in Arizona
The 181 tank with a ton of liquid chocolate rolled onto a highway near Flagstaff, Arizona, leaving sweet streams all the way. CNN reports that the incident occurred on Monday, January 14.
A car accident occurred on Interstate 40, blocking some of the lanes while services cleaned up the chocolate mess. As a result of the accident, no one was hurt, but the cleaning took about four hours.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety shared the photos on Twitter. “Sweet cleaning awaits!” – the post says.
The tank truck transported 40 000 pounds (about 181 tons) of liquid chocolate, the temperature of which reached about 49 degrees Celsius.
"It was all about the latch that connects the main truck to the tanker," DPS media relations specialist Bart Graves told CNN via email.
“The tank in the back was heavily damaged, so we had to (pump out) the fluid so the tank could be lifted onto the tow truck,” Graves said.
According to DPS, the liquid is biodegradable, so the "sweet" shoulders will not be affected.
