Several flights were delayed at the South Carolina airport because of the alligator: he walked along the runway
An alligator has been spotted walking down the runway of South Carolina's busiest airport. It caused a short flight delay, reports Independent.
An alligator appeared on the runway of departing flights at Charleston International Airport on August 27 around 19:00.
Passengers on board the aircraft could see the alligator from the windows.
Airport officials apparently allowed the alligator to continue down the taxiway before the planes resumed takeoff.
John Moroni, who was among those who captured the alligator on his phone, said other passengers on his Delta flight were informed by the pilot of the delay caused by the alligator.

And in April, a crocodile refused to leave a runway at a US Naval Air Station in Key West, Florida, when wildlife officials were called to help remove the animal.
Like Florida, South Carolina and the area around Charleston International are home to many reptiles. An estimated 100 alligators live in South Carolina. Wildlife experts say alligators move around more frequently in spring and summer due to the breeding season.
