In 2019, retailers will open more 2000 new stores in the USA

In the US retail sector, there has been a period of large-scale shocks that have led to record high bankruptcy and store closures over the past few years.

Against the background of these losses, some retailers succeed and increase the number of their outlets in the US, and some close unsuccessful stores in some areas and open up in others, hoping for the success of these outlets. In general, this year, retailers plan to open more than 2000 stores in the US, according to data analysis conducted Business Insider.

Here is a complete list of companies opening stores.

Dollar General: 975 Stores

The Dollar General network, which has more than 15 200 stores in 44 states, plans to open 975 stores in the 2019 fiscal year, as well as reconstruct the 1000 of its stores and relocate 100 stores.

Dollar Tree: 350 Stores

Dollar Tree plans to open 350 new Dollar Tree stores and convert 200 Family Dollar outlets to Dollar Tree stores.

Family Dollar: 200 Stores

Dollar Tree plans to close Family Dollar 390 stores and open 200 new outlets under this name.

Aldi: 130 stores

This year Aldi plans to open more 130 new outlets and reconstruct 235 stores. By the end of the year, this chain of grocery stores will have about 2000 stores in the United States.

Ulta: 80 stores

Over the past few years, Ulta has opened about 100 stores a year, and now there are more than 1100 stores in the United States. In December, the company said it would slow its growth to 80 new store openings this year, followed by new 75 stores next year and 70 in 2021 year.

HomeGoods: 65 Stores

The HomeGoods network, owned by TJ Maxx, plans to open 65 stores in the US this year, which will increase the total number of HomeGoods stores to 800.

TJ Maxx and Marshalls: 60 Stores

TJ Maxx plans to add 60 stores to TJ Maxx and Marshalls in the USA and 80 stores in Canada, Europe and Australia. The discovery will bring the total number of TJ Maxx stores to more than 4500.

Abercrombie & Fitch: 40 stores

In March, Abercrombie & Fitch said it plans to close up to 40 stores this year. But the chain also plans to open 40 stores in the US, including 20 Hollister stores, 15 Abercrombie Kids stores and five Abercrombie stores.

Sprouts Farmers Market: 30 Stores

This year, Sprouts plans to open about 30 stores in places like Baton Rouge (Louisiana); Herndon (Virginia); Jacksonville (FL); Los Angeles (California); Marlton (New Jersey) and Mesa (Arizona).

Target: 23 Store

This year, Target announced the opening of 23 stores in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Kentucky and New York.

Costco: 20 Stores

Costco plans to open 20 new stores in 2019.

Dry Goods: 19 Stores

Dry Goods, a fashion store that belongs to the Von Maur department store chain, plans to open 19 stores this year, which will increase the total number of their stores to 58.

HomeSense: 15 stores

TJ Maxx opened its first HomeSense stores in 2017, and announced that it plans to open about 400 stores in the United States in the coming years. Shops are similar to HomeGoods, also owned by TJ Maxx, but offer a wider selection of furniture. The discovery will bring the total number of HomeSense stores to 31.

Walmart: Less 10 Stores

Walmart said it plans to open fewer 2020 stores in the fiscal year 10.

Sierra Trading Post: 10 Stores

This year, TJ Maxx plans to open 10 stores of Sierra Trading Post, which sell equipment for outdoor activities and fitness, with the result that the total number of stores will reach 45.

Nordstrom: 7 stores

Nordstrom plans to open seven stores: two department stores in Manhattan, New York and Norvolk, Connecticut, and five Nordstrom Rack stores in Porter Ranch and El Segundo, California; Westminster, Colorado; Baltimore, Maryland; and Staten Island, New York.

Kohl's: 4 Store

This year, Kohl's plans to close four small-size stores, which cover approximately 35 000 square feet (3 250 square meters). The company said that they will have 60% less space and 60% less inventory than the standard Kohl's store.

Wegmans: 3 Store

Wegmans plans to open three stores in 2019 in Virginia Beach, Virginia; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Brooklyn, New York.

Whole Foods: 2 Store

Amazon-owned Whole Foods plans to open at least two new stores in Atlanta, Georgia and Commack, New York this year.
