USCIS Completes H-1B Work Visa Application Draw for 2021
US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it had received sufficient petitions to meet the 65 limit set by Congress for the H-000B standard work visa and the 1 limit on additional visas for graduate students for fiscal 20.

USCIS has completed sending not selected notices to registrants' online accounts. The status of correctly represented registrations for FY1 H-2021B numerical distributions that were not selected will now look like this:
Not Selected: Not selected for this fiscal year. (Not chosen: not selected for this fiscal year).
The service will continue to accept and process petitions that are not subject to the restriction. Petitions filed for current H-1B workers who were previously scored by the lottery and who still retain their cap number are excluded from the lottery for fiscal 2021.

USCIS will continue to accept and process petitions filed to:
- extend the length of time a current H-1B worker can remain in the United States;
- change the terms of employment for current H-1B workers;
- allow current H-1B workers to change employers; and
- allow current H-1B workers to work concurrently in the second H-1B position.
US companies use program H-1B for hiring foreign workers in specialties. USCIS invites H-1B petitioners to subscribe to the Season Updates mailing list posted on H-1B Cap Season.
As ForumDaily previously wrote, the initial registration period for the H-1B work visa lottery for the 2022 financial year opens at noon ET March 9 and will run until noon ET on March 25th. During this period, potential applicants and representatives will be able to provide information about the applicant and beneficiary and register.
