USCIS opens asylum office in San Antonio

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has opened an additional asylum processing office in San Antonio, Texas, the agency said. Official USCIS website.

Beginning May 28, 2026, asylum seekers who applied for asylum through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and reside in the Houston asylum office's area of ​​responsibility can have their interviews conducted either in Houston or at the new San Antonio office. The opening of the additional site increases the Houston office's capacity to schedule and conduct interviews for asylum applications under the affirmative process.
