Nearly 500 naturalization ceremonies in the US this week: 17 immigrants will receive citizenship
US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate Constitution Day and Citizenship Day (or Constitution Week) with hundreds of naturalization ceremonies across the country.
During Constitution Week, USCIS will welcome more than 17 new U.S. citizens at 000 naturalization ceremonies across the country from September 467 to 14. Special naturalization ceremonies will include a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation event on September 23, where USCIS Director Ur M. Judd will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America to new citizens. Here is the full list of Constitution Week 2024 ceremonies.
Constitution Week 2024 caps a year of notable USCIS achievements that have made the naturalization process easier and more accessible:
- Reducing naturalization delays by 60% and reducing processing times to less than six months.
- Release of a new version of Form N-400 (Application for Naturalization): the form now allows choose a third genderand request a social security number update.
Lawful permanent residents who are eligible to become U.S. citizens undergo a complex, multi-step naturalization process. The final and most solemn step is the oath of allegiance to the United States.
To help applicants prepare to become U.S. citizens, USCIS provides teaching materials and resources, in particular the mobile application, which is currently available in Apple Store и Google Play.

The app saves old practice tests for review, offers a game to test users’ citizenship knowledge, and lists all 100 questions and answers that might be asked in a real citizenship test. Applicants can also access the citizenship practice test at Citizens Resource Center.
After each naturalization ceremony, new U.S. citizens, their families, and friends share naturalization photos on social media using the hashtags #NewUSCitizen, #ConstitutionWeek, and #WeThePeople.

Constitution Week commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, and Citizenship Day, which began in 1940 under the name I Am an American. In 1952, President Harry Truman signed the Citizenship Day proclamation, and in 1955, President Dwight Eisenhower declared the first Constitution Week.
