In Ohio, a native of Russia accused of brutally murdering her American husband

An American of Russian descent is accused of murdering a US Air Force recruiter husband. A man was found shot dead in a ditch near his home in Ohio. The couple was in the divorce proceedings and fought for custody of their three children. The mother of the deceased was afraid that after receiving a divorce her daughter-in-law would flee with them to Russia.

32-year-old Angelina Hamrick is accused of aggravated murder in connection with the death of her husband Jason Hamrick, with whom she was in the divorce proceedings.

His body, with a gunshot wound to the head, found 1 July less than a mile from their home in Tate Township. Michael Andrew Clark, whom Angelina calls her boyfriend, is accused of conspiring to commit murder with aggravating circumstances.

The records of the trial show that Angelina and Clark discussed the murder of Jason on several occasions, and on June 10, Angelina called Clark and told him: "I did it."

Angelina and Clark appeared in the Clermont County courtroom on Monday morning. Judge Anita Behmann established a bail in both of them in the amount of 1 million dollars. When asked if she understood the charge she was facing, Angelina replied: "Not guilty."

According to reports from the Clermont County Sheriff's office, since April 2018, police have been summoned to the Hamriks home more than 10 times.

In one case, Angelina phoned 911 and reported that her husband had hit her in the face. But the report on the incident shows that Jason was recording their conversation on his mobile phone, and the video showed Jason pushing Angelina. The woman claimed that her children would confirm the story of the blow to the face, but they told the officer that their father had pushed their mother away.

The records of the Claremont Interior Court show that Jason filed for divorce in January 2018. At some point, the couple made up, but it turned out not for long. The records also show that Angelina twice violated the conditions of meetings with children established by the court.

Angelina has three children aged 10, 8 and 2 years.

The children told law enforcement officers that their mother left them alone at home for the night when she left for work. One of the children said that he wanted a new mother, because "this mother is angry." The middle child said that Angelina once hit the older child with a pencil, piercing the skin.

Counsel Sharon Schnelle noted that she had a conflict with Angelina after she heard that she was scolding children for telling the police about what was happening in their house.

Last week, Jason's mother filed an urgent petition for temporary custody of her late son’s three children. She believes that Angelina can escape from the country, taking the children to her homeland, to Russia. A woman assumes that her sister-in-law will try to escape through Mexico. Angelina is from Russia, but she has American citizenship.

Hamrick and Clark are now in prison in Claremont County, the court set them a bail in 1 million dollars. Cases against them will be submitted to the grand jury next week.
