Asel Roberts, a native of Kazakhstan, took over as Acting Head of the Protocol Service of the US Department of State on January 20, 2021, according to Department of State website. He writes about it AkiPress.

The Acting Chief of the Protocol Service of the US Department of State is a federal officer with responsibility for national and international diplomatic protocol.
