Hurricane Hermin in Florida: one person died, hundreds of thousands were left without electricity
At least one person died after Hurricane Hermin hit the coast of Florida in the Big Bend area, hundreds of thousands were left without electricity.
The deceased is a man who was in a tent at a homeless camp when a tree fell on it; his identity and age have not yet been established, reports Weather.com.
The hurricane caused severe damage to the coast of Taylor County.
According to Florida Governor Rick Scott, about 253 thousands of homes were left without electricity in Taylor County.
Pasco County started flooding due to heavy rains, at least 18 people were rescued from the water.
Around 6, thousands of State National Guard members along with police and rescue personnel provide security in Florida. A state of emergency is imposed on 75% state territory.
