Universities will hand out free cookies to attentive students.
In the US, two universities plan to encourage attentive students. This is also an attempt to stop ignoring teachers.
The University of Pennsylvania and California State University are the first to adopt an app called Pocket Points, which monitors how long a student looks at their smartphone while sitting in lectures. If in 20 minutes the student has not touched the device even once, then he receives one point. The app has geographic restrictions—students can only earn points while on campus.
If knowledge consumers gain 10 points, they will get an 15-percent discount on university branded goods, and if 15, then they will receive two free cookies at a local cafe. Having earned enough points, students can claim discounts at local institutions, like Bradley's Cheesesteaks and Hoagies, DP Dough and Dwelling Boutique, writes AmericaRu.com
