United Airlines stopped transporting pets in the luggage compartment

Airline United Airlines 20 March announced about the temporary closure of the PetSafe program, which was designed to carry pets in the luggage compartments of aircraft.

ЭThis is due to the revision of the conditions in which animals are transported, reports Rtvi.

New rules should be developed by 1 May 2018. So far, the program will be available only to passengers who have been approved by the airline for the transportation of their pets. Petsafe until 20 March.

Program termination Petsafe will not affect passengers who are planning to transport pets in the cabin.

The company promised to issue colored animal tags at the beginning of April, which will be allowed to be in the cabin along with the owners.

Now United permits carry only domestic cats, dogs, rabbits and decorative birds (except cockatoo parrots) in the cabin. For transporting one animal, its owner will have to pay at least $ 125. This amount may be higher depending on the number of transfers and the duration of the flight.

All animals must be transported in special portable cages or bags, the maximum size of which can not exceed 46 cm in length, 28 cm in width and 28 cm in height.

The company decided to revise the rules of transporting pets after a series of scandals that occurred on flights United over the past few weeks.

The company apologized to the owners, checked the health of both dogs and returned the pets to their owners.
