The legend of Soviet cinema Inna Churikova died: she gave the world more than 80 films

People's Artist of the USSR, actress Inna Churikova died of cardiac arrest. She was 79 years old. This was announced by the director of the theater "Lenkom Mark Zakharova" Mark Varshaver. Read more about the unfortunate event told the publication Radio Liberty.

The actress was born on October 5, 1943 in the village of Belebey during the evacuation during the Second World War. In 1945, the Churikov family moved to the village of Korenevo, not far from Moscow.

After leaving school, Churikova tried to enter the Shchepkin Theater School and the studio of the Moscow Art Theater (MKhAT), but both attempts were unsuccessful. From the third time, Churikova entered the acting department at the Shchukin Theater School and graduated with a so-called red diploma in 1965.

For the first time, the young actress appeared in the cinema in 1960 in the film "Clouds over Borsk" directed by Vasily Ordynsky. Then she starred in several dozen films, including Frost, The Same Munchausen, Military Field Romance, Shirley Myrli and others.

Since 1975, Churikova served at the Lenin Komsomol Theater, now it is Mark Zakharov's Lenkom.

Inna Churikova is a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, holder of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland. And in 2019, the actress received the Golden Mask Award for her outstanding contribution to theatrical art.

During her long career, Inna Churikova starred in 81 films. Several of them were filmed by her husband, the famous director Gleb Panfilov. The last film with her participation "Ivan Denisovich" was released in 2021.

Churikova spoke out in support of journalist Viktoria Ivleva, who was detained for picketing in support of the Memorial human rights society. Among others, she signed a letter to the Supreme Court of Karelia with a request to transfer the case of the historian Yury Dmitriev to a court in another region of Russia. The actress wrote a guarantee for Dmitriev.
