One of the world's most famous couturiers has died
World famous designer Pierre Cardin died in France at the age of 98. Writes about it with the BBC.

The designer died in a hospital in the commune of Neuilly-sur-Seine, west of Paris. There are many French celebrities there.
The legendary couturier was one of the pioneers of the unisex style and preferred an abstract geometric style.
Pierre Cardin was born on July 2, 1922 in the province of Treviso in Italy. But he grew up in France and studied in Paris.

He began his career as a theater artist. He designed the costumes for Jean Cocteau's 1946 classic film Beauty and the Beast.
According to Wikipedia, in 1970 Cardin designed for NASA. During his visit there, he became the only person to try on Neil Armstrong's spacesuit, in which he stepped on the moon for the first time in human history.

Then he worked at the Christian Dior atelier, and later founded his own fashion house Pierre Cardin.
Cardin contributed to the fashion revolution with his futuristic designs in the 1960s and 70s. He was also a pioneer in the business, allowing his name to be used to sell a range of merchandise such as sunglasses.
