For many years, Cohen's creative partner was Sharon Robinson, who grew out of the modest role of backing vocalist into a full-fledged collaborator.

It is to her that such popular Koen melodies as Everybody Knows and Waiting for the Miracle belong.

On the Ten New Songs album released in 2001, Robinson is listed as the author of all recorded songs.

In 2006, 73-year-old Cohen was forced to start touring again to improve his financial situation when he learned that his former assistant and former lover Kelly Lynch had appropriated $ 5 million of his savings.

She never returned a cent to him, and this despite the fact that he won the case against her, and the court decided to pay him compensation.
