Died actor Buldakov, famous for his role as general in 'Peculiarities of the National Hunt'

There was no national artist of Russia Alexey Buldakov, he died at the age of 68 years, writes Air force with reference to the Guild of Cinematographers of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia. The actor became famous for his role as a general in the film “Peculiarities of the National Hunt.”

“Alexey Ivanovich Buldakov died, we don’t have detailed information, we only know that he was on tour and a blood clot broke loose,” an interlocutor in the guild’s press service told TASS.

“He was in Mongolia and a blood clot broke loose. This happened tonight,” the press service clarified in a conversation with Interfax.

The first to announce Buldakov’s death on his Instagram page was the president of the Amur Autumn theater and film festival, Sergei Novozhilov.

In an interview with RBC Novozhilov said that in Mongolia, the actor was like a tourist.

“We are busy transporting the body to Russia,” the actor’s representative Olga Krivenkova told RBC.

In the Russian Embassy in Mongolia, TASS said that Buldakov died on the night of 2 on 3 of April from heart failure.

Buldakov was born in 1951 in the Altai Territory, graduated from a drama school in Kazakhstan and, before meeting Rogozhkin, played mostly episodic roles and supporting roles.

His most stellar role was the role of General Ivolgin in a series of films directed by Alexander Rogozhkin - “Peculiarities of National Hunting”, “Peculiarities of National Fishing”, “Peculiarities of National Hunting in Winter”, “Peculiarities of National Policy”, “Operation Happy New Year”.

In an interview with the Gordon Boulevard portal in 2005, the actor said that the prototype of General Ivolgin was General Alexander Lebed.

“I didn’t copy him, I just played him,” he recalled. “The role was written for me personally, and Lebed was just then becoming a very popular figure. So Rogozhkin and I decided: let’s try to play the famous general! Well, since I have always successfully parodied famous people (at one time Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev did an amazing job), this was not difficult for me.”

Buldakov said that Lebed, who after military service became a politician, was the governor and ran for president, liked the film.

“But I also found one drawback. It turns out that by the time the picture was released, Lebed had not drunk for several years. And the general especially liked the scenes in the bathhouse and swimming,” said the actor.
