Ukraine is fighting again
As a result of repelling an attack by militants in the Starognatka area of Donetsk region, the enemy was thrown two or three kilometers. This was told by the spokesperson of the General Staff Vladislav Seleznev.
“In certain areas there was a very serious situation, there was close combat, that is, in some places the distance between the forces of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) and the militants could be less than a hundred meters,” Seleznev said.
As it is known, on Monday morning, the militants launched an offensive.
It became clear: the implementation of the peace agreements from February 12 was hopelessly slowed down, out of schedule. To date, there are very few chances that by the deadline - by the end of the year - they will be implemented, the unrecognized republics will return to the legal field of Kiev, and Ukrainian security forces will regain control over the border of the current DNR and LNR with Russia.
13 April 2014, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to launch an anti-terrorist operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the involvement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During this time, the history of Ukraine has been replenished with two copies of the Minsk agreements, but the militants still remain in Ukraine.
During this time, five mobilization waves have passed in Ukraine, the sixth one is still ongoing.
The number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine has reached 1,4 million people. This is stated in the message of the UN in Twitter. According to the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, 60% of displaced people are pensioners, 12% are children, 4% are people with disabilities.
According to the UN, at the end of June, 4 thousand 603 Ukrainians applied for protection in Germany, in Poland - 3 thousand 600, in Italy - 2 thousand 956, in Sweden - 1 thousand 962, in France - 1 thousand 763, in Moldova - 200 , in Russia - 59 people and another 143 people in Belarus.
Since the start of the conflict in eastern Ukraine - from mid-April 2014 to May 30, 2015 - at least 6417 people have died, including about 626 women and children, according to a UN human rights report. Data is an estimate, so actual losses may be significantly higher. This is evidenced by the fact that many people are considered missing.
