Ukrainians launched an online conversation translator

Difficulties of translation are an urgent problem for those who immigrate or travel a lot. Especially hard for young businessmen who often have to communicate with foreign partners by phone without any support from an interpreter. Ukrainians Alexey Dundich and Ilya Shumakov faced the same problem when they immigrated from the country and decided it. Their mobile app Chatlas for iOS allows you to instantly organize the transfer of any calls: and telephone (via conference call), and live conversations (using speakerphone), пишет Internet portal AIN.

To date, over 150 translators have registered with the service. “Each translator is moderated before starting work on the system, so 27 of all registered users is activated,” he clarified.

Fees depend on the type of call: direct call to the translator (0,99€ per minute) or conference call with an interpreter (1,19€ per minute). The first minute is free, money is withdrawn from the Chatlas account, starting from the second minute. But to attract users, the creators of the application charge each 5€ in the form of a bonus.

Today, the application is available in translation into English, Chinese, German and Spanish. In the near future, developers are planning to increase the number of languages, add the ability to connect a professional translator to the chat and release an application for the Android platform.

By the way, last October Skype launched a simultaneous translation for messages and video chats. Including in Ukrainian and Russian.
