UEFA conditionally disqualified the Russian national team to the end of Euro-2016
In the case of repeated unrest with the participation of fans, the disqualification will be applied realistically; In addition, the Russian Football Union (RFU) was fined 150 thousands of euros.
The disciplinary body of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to fine the Russian Football Union 150 thousand euros and impose a suspended suspension on the team for unrest arranged by the Russian fans 11 of June after the match with the England team at Euro-2016.
“Following a meeting in Paris, the UEFA Control, Ethical and Disciplinary Committee decided to impose the following sanctions against the RFU: impose a fine of 150 thousand euros and deferred disqualification of the Russian national team at Euro 2016 for riots in the stands,” the statement says. UEFA, released on Tuesday.
Disqualification can be applied in the event that Russian fans again provoke riots in any of the remaining matches of the Russian team at the European Football Championship.
The UEFA stressed that this decision concerns only incidents recorded in the stands of the stadium in Marseille, where Russian fans broke into sectors with fans of the English national team and staged a brawl.
In Marseille, the Russian team played a draw with England - 1:1. On Wednesday, the Russians will play with Slovakia, and on June 20 - with Wales.
As wrote earlier by ForumDaily, mass brawls of Russian and English football fans occurred 11 Jun before the match between the two teams.
Several people had to be hospitalized. The state of one of them - 50-year-old Englishman - is assessed as critical.
