Trump posted the logo image on his Twitter. Users of the social network immediately noted that the emblem, unveiled by the president, has a strange resemblance to the symbols of the cult science fiction television series.

“After consultation with our great military leaders, designers and others, I am pleased to unveil the new emblem of the United States Space Force, the sixth branch of our magnificent military,” Trump wrote.

In August 2018, it became known that the campaign manager for the re-election of Trump sent letters to supporters of the president asking him to vote for the emblem of the U.S. Space Forces. There were six options to choose from.

Now, critics are struck by the striking resemblance to the logo used on the Star Trek television series. While others believe that the logo is based on the emblem of the US Air Force Space Command, last December transformed into the US Space Force.

CNN reports that the central element of the emblem was first used as early as 1942 by the US Air Force, it has been used in early space units since 1961, the representative of the US Space Forces insists. He also said that it was Trump who chose the logo from several options.

One user countered those who believe that "Trump stole the Star Trek logo" by posting a logo that was still used by the Air Force.

All this happened a week after users of social networks ridiculed the military uniform of a new type of US armed forces.

The photo posted on Twitter showed the traditional sand, green and brown camouflage, after which users began to joke about why such camouflage was necessary in space.
