The teacher adopted a sick child to save his life
13-year-old Damien could not believe that his new adoptive parent would be his mathematics teacher, Finn Lanning.

Lanning and Damien first met at the beginning of the school year in August 2018, in Aurora, Colorado, writes CNN.
The teacher said that he immediately realized that the boy was special. “He’s well-mannered, polite and exceptionally smart,” Lanning said.
A teenager in his life faced with many problems. When he was 8 years old, the boy's kidneys stopped working, and he needed dialysis.

At the end of the school term, Damien approached Lanninga and warned him that he could no longer attend his classes. He explained that his relative was sending him back to the orphanage, so he was again automatically removed from the transplant queue, he wrote, “Today«.

Any guardian had to undergo special training to meet the needs of Damien. Every day, a boy over 12 hours was connected to a home dialysis machine, and kept to a strict diet.
“No way!” Lanning remembers thinking when he heard about the demands he would have to face. - This is not what I want to do. But as time passed, I felt determined to do it. I just couldn't refuse."

In December, Lanning began to learn how to care for Damien. And in March, Damien successfully underwent a kidney transplant operation and now must adhere to a special diet in order to quickly restore health.
