Teacher Evergreen middle school in Hillsboro, Oregon, Kyle Hübler turned the cool room into a Harry Potter style magic class.
According to the 28-year-old teacher, the children were delighted with what he saw, writes ABC.
“Their jaws dropped and they froze for a second and then looked around the class. There were children in every corner of the room. They wanted to look at every detail,” he said.
Hübler admitted that he had been an ardent admirer of Harry Potter since he was at school, and collected thematic things and objects that helped him in transforming the class.
Therefore, thematic decoration of the classroom cost him relatively little - only 300-400 dollars.
“I just wanted to show them a little aspect of my personality to start bridging the distance between teacher and student,” he said.
According to the teacher, it took him about 70 hours to transform the class.
“I started coming to school about five weeks before classes started. The principal was delighted with the idea and eagerly awaited the students' reactions. Many of my colleagues to whom I showed the class were amazed by what they saw,” Hubler said.
According to him, many teachers were also inspired by the idea of thematic design of classrooms.
Most of all he likes that students are now looking forward to new classes in his class, or simply drop in there at recess, even if their next lesson will be held in another room.
