Scientists have introduced a new smallpox virus that can cure cancer. As reported The Daily Mail, research results showed that treatment, code-named CF33, can kill all types of cancer (at least in a Petri dish), and also reduced malignant tumors in mice.

American professor Human Fong is developing a treatment method together with the Australian biotechnology company Imugene.

They hope next year to test the effect of treatment on patients with breast cancer.

Professor Fong is currently in Australia to organize clinical trials in several countries.

Patients with breast cancer, melanoma, cancer of the lung, bladder, stomach and intestines will be able to test for themselves the effectiveness of the new method.

Success with mice does not guarantee that the newly created virus can treat people, but Professor Fong believes in success, as other specific viruses have shown effectiveness in fighting cancer in humans.

Similarly, a form of herpes virus called Imlygic or T-Vec can treat melanoma, as it helps the body's immune system recognize and destroy the tumor and melanoma cells in the body.

“Since the beginning of the 1900’s, there has been evidence that viruses can kill cancer. For example, after vaccination against rabies in humans, the cancer disappeared or remission occurred, ”said Professor Fong.

But there were fears that viruses could be too toxic for humans and become deadly.

“The problem was that if you create a virus toxic enough (capable of killing cancer), then there was reason to worry that it could kill a person,” he explains.

Professor Fong noted that cowpox, which successfully protected people from smallpox 200 years ago, is safe for humans. It was she who formed the basis of the new cancer medicine.

Testing has shown that mixing smallpox with other viruses can kill cancer.

Cancer patients are injected with the engineered virus directly into their tumors for breakthrough treatment.

It is hoped that the virus will infect malignant tumors and cause them to self-destruct. Then the immune system will receive a signal about other cancer cells in the body, which will lead to the death of diseased cells.

Recall that previously, scientists from the United States managed to completely remove HIV from the genome of infected laboratory mice using two-stage therapy.
