Scientists have shown how aliens may look

Hollywood films and science fiction literature promote the belief that aliens are alien, monstrous creatures that are very different from humans. But new research suggests that humans might have more in common with their extraterrestrial neighbors than originally thought.

According to Phys.org, in a new study published in MInternational Journal of Astrobiology, scientists from Oxford University for the first time showed what aliens might look like.

The theory supports the argument that the forms of external life are subject to natural selection and are similar to us, evolving over time to be confident and strong.

Sam Lewin, a researcher at Oxford's Department of Zoology, said: "The main job of astrobiologists (those who study life in space) is to think about what might be alien life, but making predictions about aliens is difficult from just one example of life on Earth. Past approaches to astrobiology have been largely mechanistic, taking what we see on Earth and what we know about chemistry, geology and physics to make predictions about aliens."

“We still cannot say whether the aliens walk on two legs or if they have big green eyes. However, we believe that evolutionary theory provides a unique additional tool for understanding what aliens may look like, ”says Levin.

Forms of earthly life have become complicated as a result of several basic transitions in extreme conditions. If alien organisms survived the same stages, they can resemble earthly creatures, the scientist believes. Here are these:

=Complex aliens have evolved from the simplest into organisms of a higher order. “Octomites,” as scientists have called them, are a hierarchical system (much like the billions of cells that make up the organs and tissues of our body). “There are potentially hundreds of thousands of habitable planets in our galaxy. We can't say whether we'll be alone on Earth, but we've taken a small step forward in answering who our neighbors are like,” says the scientist.
