In New York, Uber launched a helicopter from Manhattan to JFK Airport
Uber will offer on-demand helicopter rides between Lower Manhattan and JFK starting July 9. Each trip will cost at least $200 per passenger.

Uber Copter will work during the day on weekdays. It can be booked through an application that is available only to top members of the company's loyalty program, Uber said. The trip will take eight minutes, which is significantly less than an hour (or more) if you go by train or car.
Uper Copter will act as a pilot program for Uber’s aviation division, Uber Elevate.
“Uber Copter is offering the first demo of the service,” said Uber Elevate CEO Eric Ellison. “We built Uber Copter to provide insight and practical experience as we continue to lay the foundation for Uber Air.”

UberCopter rides will be operated by HeliFlite, a helicopter company based in Newark. The helicopters will take off and land at helipads near the Staten Island Ferry in Manhattan and Terminal 8 at JFK.
The service is available only to users who are members of Platinum and Diamond in the loyalty program of Uber Rewards.
