Those who tested the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 revealed coronavirus
Some volunteers who are taking part in trials of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine have tested positive for coronavirus, writes "Present Tense".
The director of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, suggests that those who were injected not with the drug itself, but with a placebo, could have been infected, but this can be known for sure in November after the data is deciphered.
“According to statistics, there are some PCR-positive people and some diseases, but they could have been given a placebo. We will be able to provide preliminary data only in mid-November,” RIA Novosti quotes Gunzburg.
The Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus was registered in August this year. President Vladimir Putin called it the world's first registered vaccine. Currently, the third stage of clinical trials is underway, in which 40 thousand people are taking part.

Gunzburg reported that half of the volunteers received the first component of the vaccine, about 9 thousand were vaccinated a second time. The volunteers did not complain about their health during the first clinical trials of the vaccine in the summer, he said.
Putin said in August that the vaccine had passed preclinical and clinical trials in animals and volunteers.
“And it is absolutely obvious today for our specialists that this vaccine forms stable immunity, antibodies appear, just as my daughter did, and it is harmless. Thank God, my daughter is feeling well,” Putin said.
A group of scientists previously sent an open letter to their Russian colleagues and the editor of the authoritative scientific journal Lancet regarding an article on the results of trials of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. In it, scientists expressed doubts about the reliability of the data presented in the article.

An article by Russian scientists in the Lancet journal was published in early September 2020. It stated that the Russian drug Sputnik V, developed by the Gamaleya Center, is capable of creating immunity against coronavirus in the human body, and all patients participating in the tests developed antibodies to counteract the virus and they did not have serious side effects.
In October, Putin announced the registration of the second vaccine from the Novosibirsk Vector center, called EpiVacCorona.
