One of the battalion groups of NATO troops is deployed in the city of Tapa, but the deployment of American special forces in the country was not previously known.

Witnesses' journalists were allowed to enter the secret facility, provided that its location was not disclosed. U.S. Army Colonel, senior European special forces officer Kevin Stringer said that the Americans are now training at the base with Estonians. During the crisis period, orders for special forces will come from Washington.

“US Special Forces in Estonia are subordinate to the European Special Operations Command in Stuttgart. That is, they are subordinate to the command of the US Armed Forces through the command in Europe, ”explained Stringer.

In April, the Estonian Ambassador to Poland and Romania, Eric Marmay, said that Tallinn was in favor of ensuring a regular rotational US military presence in all three Baltic republics. The head of the Department of Transatlantic Relations and Security Policy of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Raymond Marmokaite, also called on the Americans to strengthen their naval and air forces.
