The ship with Ukrainians and Azerbaijanis sank off the coast of Turkey: there are dead

Six sailors died in the crash in the Black Sea of ​​the Volgo-Balt-214 cargo ship, Anadolu news agency reported. According to the authorities of the Turkish province of Samsun, near the coast of which the crash occurred, a distress signal from a dry cargo ship sailing under the Panamanian flag arrived at 8: 00 Moscow time, after which rescue ships and helicopters were sent to help the ship in distress. According to the coast guard, there was a 13 man aboard a cargo ship that left the Russian port of Azov and was heading for the Turkish Samsun. Anadolu agency clarifies that nine of them were Ukrainians, two were Azeris and two more were Russians.

In turn, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Sibiga, said that out of the 13 who died on the Volgo-Balt-214, the Ukrainians were 11 people.

“This morning, a merchant ship sank off the coast of Samsun due to weather conditions. Of the 13 11 crew members were citizens of Ukraine. The coast guard was promptly taken proper action. Unfortunately, we failed to save four of our compatriots, ”Sibiga wrote on his Twitter page, noting that the Ukrainian consul had left for the survivors.

Rescuers managed to lift out of the water and deliver to the shore seven survivors and the bodies of six dead.

According to Turkish media reports, the Volgo-Balt-1978, which was built in 214 and was loaded with coal, split in half before its death.
